Staff Title: WeCARE Quality Reviewer

Reports to: Manager of WeCARE Review

Working Conditions: Full time (M-F) Office and Community Business Settings, Travel Required

Position Summary:

Perform in a quality, professional role for; On-Site Surveys, Record Reviews, Data Collection & Recording, Education and Training for internal and external customers of the WeCARE Program.

Position Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years prior experience in nursing, performing medical record audits and/or site surveys OR at least two years of prior experience as a CRC, LMSW/LCSW in vocational and/or rehabilitation counseling, behavioral/mental health services
  • Current and active Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) Certification, RN or MSW (LMSW/LCSW) license, in good standing in New York State
  • Manual Dexterity with ability to use computers and other office equipment necessary to complete auditing activities and other assignments
  • Advanced level computer skills and knowledge i.e. Microsoft Office Products, include Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and other database management software
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License & ability to drive a vehicle in NYS or use public transportation to attend site surveys
  • Visual and auditory comprehension and function
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective listening skills
  • Ability to access various settings, negotiate architectural barriers (i.e. stairs) in office and community settings

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 – 4 Years of progressive experience in nursing, vocational and/or rehabilitation counseling, behavioral/mental health services, or quality related organization strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred, Master’s in Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation Services or related field
  • Up-to-date knowledge of vocational rehabilitation services
  • Advanced level computer skills and knowledge i.e. Microsoft Office Products, include Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and other database management software
  • Bilingual communication skills desired, Spanish preferred
  • Demonstrate logical reasoning & critical thinking skills
  • Detail oriented, highly organized work skills
  • Demonstrate a mature, professional, respectful, demeanor and style
  • Demonstrate initiative and perform as a motivated self-starter
  • Commitment to continuously provide quality services to all customers

Job Responsibilities:

Candidate must understand and be willing and able to assume roles and responsibilities other than these to meet the needs of the WeCARE Department and NYCHSRO in general.

  • Perform as a professional during record reviews/audits and site surveys
  • Perform as a highly motivated review team member during audit and educational activities
  • Assist in developing audit tools and other materials
  • Advanced level computer skills and knowledge i.e. Microsoft Office Products, include Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and other database management software
  • Demonstrate effective oral presentation and writing skills to prepare clear, concise and accurate verbal and written reports
  • Perform daily activities to complete auditing workflows and assigned tasks
  • Assist in all aspects of Data Management, to include but not limited to data & trend analysis, tracking & reporting, and review projects
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff and ongoing training of Team staff and external customers
  • Assist with site visit schedule and activities for visits and reports
  • Maintain current and up to date knowledge base in Vocational Rehab Services, and related topics
  • Continually work to create an environment of teamwork toward common goals, mutual support and respect
  • Collaborate as a member of a team with all review activities
  • Other duties as assigned
